In Lignan, in the Aosta Valley, an Astronomical Observatory scrutinises the skies every night. In autumn, astrophysicist Paolo Calcidese moves into the facility as its sole caretaker and inhabitant to carry out his scientific research and experiment with new technologies. A technical accident, however, forces him to devote himself to other life forms: human beings.
